- Hephzibah Jenkins Townsend was said to have looked like a beautiful islander ...
soft black hair that framed her face, deep-set eyes, small regular features,
and a tender, smiling mouth. She also had traits of being gifted with a
brilliant mind, a strong will, and a sense of justice.
