He retired from TVA after 20 years of service. Howard was preceded in death by his father Vernon E. Fleeger. He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years and sweetheart since he was in the seventh grade, Judy Patterson Fleeger; daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Bob McCown of Suffolk, Virginia; granddaughters Elaine, Rebecca, Emily, Rachel, Victoria and Sydney, which was an answered prayer to see all his grandchildren born; mother Margie Fleeger of Lenoir City; sister Carolyn Weatherly of Lenoir City; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Martha Fleeger of Lenoir City, Rev. Timothy and Dana Fleeger of Seymour; mother in law Trula Patterson of Farragut; sister-in-law Ina Patterson Gilbert of Knoxville; several nieces, nephews, great-nephews; and many friends he touched during his lifetime. Howard’s favorite song was “I can only Imagine” and now he doesn’t have to imagine any longer. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Vanderbilt Medical Clinic and the many doctors associated with Park West Hospital who attended to Howard during his journey. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. on Friday, March 19 with a Celebration of Life to follow at 7:30 p.m. in the Click Funeral Home Farragut Chapel with Pastor Sam Polson officiating.
