Ina R. Pearson, 64, a life-long resident of Leavenworth, died Sunday June 17, 2012 at her home. She was born on Jan. 23, 1948 to Burl and Sylvia (Mounter) Whaley at Leavenworth. She graduated from Peshastin Dryden High School in 1966. Ina lived in Wenatchee for many years and worked in the family restaurant (The Big Y Café) and later moved to Manson, where she worked in the family business's ( Whaley 's North Shore Variety Store and Restaurant). Ina married Marvin Pearson at Manson on July 4, 1987; this Fourth of July would have been 25 years. They later built a home on the Wenatchee River at Plain where she had lived until her death.
Ina was a homemaker, always there with a helping hand making many friends along the way. She loved traveling, fishing, RVing, boating and spending time with her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin Pearson of the family home; sons and daughter-in-law, Buck and Lily Walker, Scott Hofstetter all of Manson; brother, Rick (Candy) Whaley of Wenatchee; sisters, Phyllis (Bert) Stegeman of Leavenworth and Beryle (Steve) Smith of Waynsburg, Pa.; grandchildren, Travis, John and Derek and granddaughter, Kaya; also many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Sylvia Whaley ; and a nephew, Zonnie Whaley .
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Ina Ruth Pearson will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the American Legion Post in Peshastin at 2 p.m.
Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth is in charge of the arrangements.
