(March 13, 1937 - October 13, 2013) Mildred M. Giffin Evans, of Maryville, formerly of Greenback departed this life Sunday morning, October 13, 2013 at her home. She was a member of Morganton Baptist Church and former owner of Blount County Flower Shop. Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E “Todd” Evans also departing ahead of her are her sisters, Kathrine Purkey and Lucille Rauhuff and brothers, Charles and Bobby Giffin, and parents and grandparents. Survivors include her children, Donna (Joey) Housley, Randy (Sally) Evans, Sue (Don) Martin and Robin (Jimmy) Sims. She also leaves behind a host of loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Juanita Beckner, Ruth (Harold) Dotson, Freida Fackler and Betty Carol (Ben) Pietz; many nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws and close friends are also left to celebrate her crossing, as well as special friend, Debbie Normand. At Mildred’s request, graveside service and interment will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Pine Grove Cemetery, Dr. Thomas McLemore officiating, with a Celebration of Life at her residence following the graveside service.
