(Dock) Atkins, age 61 formerly of Point Pleasant went to be with his Lord Wednesday, August 9, 2006. He was a farmer by trade. Mr. Atkins is preceded in death by his father, Mark Atkins and two brothers, Buford and Cecil Joe Atkins. He is survived by his mother, Eunie Stephenson Atkins; three sisters and brother-in-laws, Lifa Hanson of Point Pleasant, Pauline and Jim Brown of Newport and Stella and Bob Brown of Rochelle Park, NJ; four brothers and sister-in-laws, Kenneth and Donna Atkins of Newport, Chester and Jessie Atkins of White Pine, Buster and Wendell Atkins of Newport. He will also be sadly missed by several nieces and one nephew and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Friday, August 11, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Hurst officiating. Interment will follow at New Home Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home has been honored to provide the final arrangements for Mr. James R. (Dock) Atkins.
