William “Larry” Swayney, age 59 of Rutledge, went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 26, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was of the Baptist faith, and a dedicated miner for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Perry “Tom” and Francis Patterson Swayney; grandparents, Roy and Kate Swayney, and Holbert and Ida Patterson, all of Blaine. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Jones Swayney; daughters and sons-in-law, Tina (Lee) Swayney-Greenlee, and Angela (George) Swayney Pritting; grandchildren, Amber and Ashton Jones, and Joshua Pritting; step grandchildren, Amber Lee and Brandon Hunter Greenlee, all of Rutledge; sister, Kathy Swayney and fiancé Charley Guffey; nephew, Anthony Sewell, all of Blaine; and a host of family and friends. A special thank you to his co-workers for all their kindness and support at Nystar mines, and a special thank you to Caris Healthcare. Funeral services will be held 8:00 P.M. Monday, November 28, 2011 in the chapel of Smith-Reagan Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Kitts and Rev. David Collins officiating. Graveside services will be Tuesday, 11:00 A.M. in Grainger Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.
