He was a retired farmer and the oldest member of Rankin Hill Community. He was a member of Stokely Chapel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie May Hall. Survivors: children, Kenneth Hall, Inez Hall, Raymond Hall, Mildred Hale, and William B. (Buggy) Hall, all of Newport, Billy Joe Hall of Dandridge, and Helen Leonetti of Bridgeton, New Jersey; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, May 1, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 2, at Stokely Chapel Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the church. Rev. Dale Hayes, Rev. Junior Loveday and Rev. Cline Franklin will officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
