LOCKHART - Mr. Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Gibson , 47, of 8082 Lockhart Hwy. in Sharon died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Wallace Thomson Hospital in Union.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Alan Quarles and Stan Eaves officiating. Burial will be in Lockhart Cemetery.
A native of Sharon, Mr. Gibson was a son of Donald Gibson of Lockhart and the late Carolyn McMahan Gibson . He was employed with Premier Color in Union and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife, Wanda Kay Ervin Gibson of Charlotte; two daughters, Holly G. Porter of Lockhart and Brooke Orr of Chester; his brother, Tim Gibson of Smyrna; his sister, Sandra G. Austin of Sharon; and four grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Holcombe Funeral Home in Union and at other times at the home of his sister, Sandra G. Austin, 1731 Quail Hollow Road, Sharon. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to the Lockhart Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 492, Lockhart, SC 29364.

Mr. Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Gibson, 47, of 8082 Lockhart Highway, Sharon, died Friday, Sept. 10, 2004, at Wallace Thomson Hospital after a long illness.
Mr. Gibson was born in Sharon, Oct. 29, 1956, a son of Donald Gibson of Lockhart and the late Carolyn Mahan Gibson. He was formerly employed with Premier Color in Union and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Wanda Kay Ervin Gibson of Charlotte; two daughters, Holly G. Porter of Lockhart and Brooke Orr of Chester; one sister, Sandra G. Austin of Sharon; one brother, Tim and his wife Rhonda Gibson of Smyrna; and four grandchildren, Summer Raye Porter, Savannah Elaine Mathis, Thomas Maverick Orr and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Orr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church by Rev. Alan Quarles and Mr. Stan Eaves. Burial will be in Lockhart Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Kodie Austin, Stan Eaves, Harold Dean O’Dell, Clyde W. Ervin Jr., Roger Horton and Larry Gene Cabiness. Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Thomason and Kenneth Cabaniss.
The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7-9 and will be placed in the church at 10 p.m. Tuesday to await the hour of service. Memorials may be made to the Lockhart Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 492, Lockhart, S.C. 29364. The family is at the home of his sister, Sandra G. Austin, 1731 Quail Hollow Road, Sharon, S.C. 29742.
