Eldred "Jim" Timson , 91, a resident of Hinsdale, died peacefully Nov. 9 at King Bruwaert House in Burr Ridge.
Mr. Timson was born May 5, 1916 in Highland Park, the son of the late Charles and Marjorie Timson . He attended St. John's Military Academy, received a bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College and an electrical engineering degree from MIT. In 1941, he married Armana Drown of White River Junction, Vt. Together they had three children. Following Armana's death, he married Patricia Barnard Page, herself a widow and mother of three. The two recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Timson enjoyed a lifelong career with Sunbeam Corp. He was vice president of research and development for many years and retired in 1974 as executive vice president. Mr. Timson was active in many civic organizations in Hinsdale and at Grace Episcopal Church. He was a member of the Hinsdale Golf Club and also enjoyed travel and photography. He was a kind gentleman who dearly loved life. He was a voracious reader, an accomplished woodworker and a superb chef. His positive outlook and love of family were exemplary.
He was the husband of Patricia (nee Barnard); the father of Philip (Yomana) Page, the late Pamela (Tom) Carlson, Sally (Jim) deMasi, Judith (Bill) Regnery, Charles (Candy) Timson , William (Dorena) Page, Dean (Bridget) Timson ; the grandfather of Tom (Liz) Carlson, Charley (Heather) Carlson, Holly (Scott) Murdock, Debbie deMasi, Mike (Cindy) deMasi, Scott (Susan) deMasi, Betsy (Matt) Brannen, Amy (Billy) CdeBaca, Bill (Cristi) Regnery, Bob (Pam) Regnery, Britt (Mike) Durkin, Jonathan (Nicole) Regnery, Bill Page, Philip (Angel) Page, Gretchen (Nick) Fillips, Michael Page, Sarah (Ryan) Gusewelle, Ashley Timson , Podma and Sungay Page, and Jenny and Patrick Timson ; great-grandfather of 32; brother of Ann Mateer and the late Andy Timson ; and brother-in-law of Dean Barnard and the late Sarah Barnard and Bruce Mateer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 27 at King Bruwaert House 6101 S. County Line Road, Burr Ridge. Burial will be private.
