Roberts-Evans marriage
Ashley Ann Roberts and Brian Todd Evans, both of Newport, exchanged wedding vows August 17, 2013, in a ? ve o’clock afternoon ceremony at the home of the bride’s brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Nichole Roberts, of Del Rio.

Parents of the bride are Charles and Teresa Gilland and Steven and Teresa Roberts, all of Newport.
She is the granddaughter of Wanda Jones and the late Billy Jones and Jackie Roberts and the late John Roberts, all of Newport.
The bridegroom is the son of Steve and Mary Fox of Cosby. He is the grandson of the late Edna and John Evans of Newport.
A large weeping willow was the focal point of the ceremony’s setting. An orange and white color scheme was used with rose petals in these hues lining the aisle. A memorial table held photos honoring the couple’s deceased grandparents.
For her wedding, the bride selected a strapless, a-line satin gown with asymmetrical side. Rhinestones highlighted the draped bodice and a rhinestone encrusted clip held her hair. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies tied with orange and white ribbon.
Attending the bride as matron of honor was her sisterin-law Nichole Roberts of Del Rio, who was escorted by her husband Craig Roberts.
Stacie Gilland, the bride’s sister-in-law, of Columbus, Georgia, was also a bridal attendant and her husband, Brandon Gilland, escorted her.
Christana Stewart of Knoxville was junior bridesmaid.
They wore orange knee-length dresses.
Ella Roberts, the bride’s niece, and Eli Roberts, the bride’s nephew, both of Del Rio, were ? ower girl and ringbearer.
Dean Evans of Newport, uncle of the bridegroom, Jason Grooms of Cosby, and Will Lewis of Newport, both friends of the bridegroom, were best men.
Spencer Gilland of Columbus, GA, carried Killer and Trixie, the couple’s dogs.
TJ Spradlin of Newport was banner carrier.
For her daughter’s wedding, the bride’s mother wore an orange, knee-length dress. The bridegroom’s mother selected a multi-color ? oor-length dress. Both wore calla lily corsages.
Mickey and Christa Stewart of Knoxville provided wedding music.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Roberts home.
Lace tablecloths covered the tables which held Mason jars ? lled with calla lilies and two candles with orange beads.
Guests enjoyed a bar-be-que dinner complete with baked beans, potato salad, and other ? nger foods.
Orange and white were used in decorating both the bride’s and groom’s cakes. Hers featured orange ? owers, ribbons, and a waterfall, while his followed a UT football theme.
Nichole Roberts created the ? ower arrangements and other decorations.

The couple reside in Newport and plan a cruise to the Bahamas in October.
She holds a Master’s degree in social work from ETSU and is employed by UT Home Health PRN and full-time by Interim Health Care of East Tennessee as a licensed master social worker.
Mr. Evans, who earned his bachelor’s degree from ETSU, is director of the Cocke County Recreation Department.
Pre-nuptial parties for the couple included a bridal shower at Old Time Gospel Church hosted by Teresa Gilland, Nichole Roberts, and Cheryl Wyatt, a bridal shower at Edgemont Church of God hosted by the bridegroom’s family, and a dinner party given by the bridegroom’s coworkers at the Cocke County Recreation Department.
