(July 14, 1931 - September 26, 2013) U.S. Veteran George L. Susong age 82 of Parrottsville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2013 after a lengthy illness. He was of the Baptist Faith and a member of the Forest Hill Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served in the Korean War. During his lifetime he worked in Community Services and a long time farmer, loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Lilly Susong; brothers James, Roy, Randall Susong; sister Margret Neil; and special niece Jane Susong. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Alma Susong; sons Curtis (Elvia) Susong of New Braunfels, Texas and Philip L. Susong of Parrottsville; daughters Debra Susong of Parrottsville and Lisa Susong Pratt of Mosheim; brothers Ralph (Joan) Susong of Morristown; and Joe (Shirley) Susong of Bybee; sister Hattie (Wayne) White of Morristown; grandchildren Ben (Christy) Susong of Bean Station, Cynthia Susong of Texas, Jessica Pratt (US Army Specialist Chris Thomas) and Lucas Pratt of Mosheim, Celina and Andy Hernandez of Texas; great grandchildren Andrew and Jaycee Susong; Aaron Albright and Mario Soto; special nephew Jimmy Susong of Morristown; and special niece Janie (Lou) Robinson of Indiana; many other nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
