COGDILL , MRS. ALICE RUTH - 84, a resident of Route 2 Box 3004, Starke, Fla., passed away Friday night March 8, 2002 at Windsor Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born in Maryville, Tenn. and raised in Knoxville, Tenn. She was a homemaker, she moved to Starke in 1956 where she has resided since. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Starke, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Cogdill ; one daughter, Mary Judd; two sons, Lee Codgill and Bill Cogdill . She is survived by one son, Gene Cogdill of Knoxville, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Lawson of Starke, Hazel Hall McEwen of Keystone Heights, and Mrs. Terrie Brannon of Starke; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Collins of Maryville, Tenn.; three brothers, Grady Simpson of Marathon, NY, Leon Simpson of Knoxville, Tenn. and Dewey Simpson of Peoria, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday March 11, 2002 at the Chapel of Archie Tanner Funeral Home with Rev. Leon Odom officiating. Burial in Crosby Lake Cemetery, with Archie Tanner Funeral Home of Starke in charge of arrangements.
