Velma Louise Fox, age 79 of Newport passed away Friday, March 16, 2007 at her home.
She was a homemaker by trade and a Baptist by faith.
Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Katheline Hance and son, McKinley "Bub" Fox, Jr.
She is survived by her husband McKinley "Speedy" Fox; children, Kathy Barnes and husband Kenneth, Betty Fox, and Margaret "Ochie" Busler and husband Eddie all of Newport.
Velma will also be sadly missed by her five grandchildren, Crystal Gregg, Samantha Sisk, Elizabeth Barnes, McKala Fox and Austin Fox; two great-grandchildren, Kacie and Cadence Gregg all of Newport; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 17, 2007 from 7-9 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Gorrell officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery.
Brown Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family wishes to give a special "Thanks" to the staff of Smoky Mountain Home Health and Hospice.
