BAILEY , MILDRED CLARK finished her work here on earth and went home to be with her Lord and to be reunited with so many friends and family that went before her. She died peacefully at home on December 27, 2006 where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Gary Whitehead. She was 87 years old. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 62 years, Howard Paul Bailey ; daughter, Edna Jean Phelps; parents, Charlie and Sue Clark ; brothers, Roy Clark , Charles Edward Clark ; sisters, Viola Fisher, Betty Sue Hammontree; daughter-in-law, Jane Bailey . Survivors include: her children, Mrs. Duane (Virginia) Hammer, of Florida, Lynda Woolery, David P. Bailey both of Friendsville, Mrs. Gary (Kathy) Whitehead of Lenoir City; grandchildren, Cindy Hammer Murray, Lynn Hammer, Cooky Woolery Smythers, Robby Woolery, Todd Phelps, Corey Phelps, Amy Bailey Moore, Beth Bailey Tucker, Andy Bailey , and Amanda Whitehead Tucker; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday at Union Grove Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Best and Rev. Charles Bailey officiating. Family and friends will meet 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Union Grove Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the church.
