Raymond A Oakley. age 78 of Knoxville, formerly of Gatlinburg passed away December 13, 2011. Raymond was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Raymond served in the U.S. Army before becoming an engineer and attended Carson-Newman College and the University of Tennessee. He was an owner in his family's motel business in Gatlinburg. He was a distinguished Project Engineer with the Federal Highway Administration for 47 years where he proudly supervised numerous building projects across the Southeast. He is predeceased by his parents, Blanche and Arthur Oakley of Gatlinburg and siblings Earl Oakley and Ruby Roberts. He is survived by his wife, Dale Oakley of Knoxville; children Robin Oakley of Knoxville and Janet (Gary) Baldwyn of Nettleton, Mississippi. Lori Cooper and Kristin (Mark) Williams of Knoxville; siblings Fred (Emily) Oakley, Doyle Oakley, Dorothy Maples; granddaughters Renea (Vic) Austin, Anna Bryn Williams and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 16 at 4:00 at Good Samaritan Episcopal Church, 425 North Cedar Bluff Road, Knoxville, TN, 37923.
