Eugene H. Long , age 85 of Maryville passed away Monday, September 10, 2007. He was born on June 11, 1922 in Blount County, TN. Served in the European Theater during World War II, where he flew 25 missions over Germany. After retiring from the Air Force he lived in King City, Paso Robles, and Apple Valley, CA, where he managed airports. He returned to Maryville in 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents: Ollie Long and Georgia (Ammons) Long ; brother: George B. Long ; sisters: Eunice ( Long ) Riden, Mary Belle ( Long ) Boring and Reba ( Long ) Kear. Survivors include son: Gene Long ; stepson: Stewart Meyer; grandsons: Eric Long and Todd Meyer; granddaughter: Eria Long of CA; brother: Clifford P. Long ; sister: Eileen ( Long ) Stineman; many nieces and nephews. Everyone will meet 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at East Maryville Cemetery for a Full Military graveside service performed by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard, and with Pastor Raymond Burnett and Associate Pastor Allan Atchley officiating. Friends may call at their convenience from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Wednesday. Condolences may be emailed to memorialfh@yahoo.com
