(August 6, 1955 - September 6, 2013) Ruby Florence Lewis Rice, of Newport passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at 9:45 am. She was a member of Dutch Bottoms Baptist Church. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Lucille Lewis; sisters, Mary Ruth Lewis, Marie Cook and Gladys Holt; and nephew, Tyler Bolton. She is survived by her husband, Danny Rice of 22 years, and family; Tate Rice and Jennifer Blair; sisters, Imogene James and Jenny Bailey; brothers, Jimmy (Susie) Lewis, Earl Lewis, David Lewis, and Charles Lewis; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim and Diane Rice, David and Audrey Rice, and Jerry and Pam Valentine; and several nieces and nephews. She would like to mention special people in her life, Debbie Juliun, Betty McMillan, Pam Valentine, Amy Love, Brenda McMillan, Carolyn Buckner, and Imogene McMahan, and also friends from the Dandridge Yacht Club. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Manes Funeral Home. At 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013, the family will hold a small service at Manes Funeral Home before burial at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Rev. Ron Ball will officiate. Pallbearers will be Tate Rice, Jody Layman, Chris Layman, Chris James, Jim Denton and Matt Heck.
