Edna Lois Witt Wise, age 88, of Newport, went to her Heavenly home on April 7, 2016, at the Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. Lois was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to all who knew her. Lois was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Newport. Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Herman “Tip” Wise and son, Eugene Wise of Newport. Lois is survived by her daughters, Peggy Wise Sanders (Adam) and Wanda Sue Wise Gilliam (Kenneth); daughter-in-law, Carolyn Wise of Newport; sister, Virginia Dyke; sisters-in-law, Barbara Witt an Anna Ruth Witt; grandchildren, Chris Sanders of Blain, TN, Alvin Sanders of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Sherry Sanders Witt (Marty) of Newport, Kimberly and Bob La Fontaine, Iowa, Terry Gilliam of Dandridge, Jason Gilliam (Kristen) of Newport; a special great-grandson, Austin Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Giliam of Dandridge, Nathan Gilliam and Eli Gilliam of Parrottsville, Heather Grindle (James) of Etowah, TN, Justin Stuart (Jessica) of Newport, Kayla Bargeron (Justin) Savanna, Georgia, Jennifer Adams (Tony) of Newport, and Jessica Smith of Newport. Lois is also survived by nine great-great-grandchildren; nine great-great-greatgrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and special friends. Also the nurses and caregivers at Newport Health and Rehabilitation Center. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm Saturday, April 9, 2016 in Manes Funeral Home West Chapel with funeral services following at 2:00 pm, Pastor Robert Williamson officiating. Burial will follow in Fowlers Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may sign the guest register online at www.manesfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by Manes Funeral Home.
