Just Plain Talk: From games to donuts the city landscape takes on new appeal
While most will be resting or grilling out over the Labor Day weekend in our hometown, many farmers are sure to be completing the rest of hay harvest before fall arrives September 22.
Somehow late this month I got on the new business tour about town because it seemed like these were popping up much like mushrooms after rain and heat. Surely you've seen them and might be able to point out a few that I have missed in August and maybe more in store for Sept.
We talked about the Family Discount Drugs business that opened this summer off Highway 25/70 and you met pharmacist Charlie Boggs of Dandridge. His wife is Elaine (Nelson) Boggs. She was at the pharmacy getting last minute things ready. They are joined by pharmacy technician James Day. So it happened, Charles of Eastern Kentucky met Elaine, who was married at one time to Jamie Webb, of Cosby, but he is deceased. Charles and Elaine live in Dandridge. Charles has been a pharmacist since 1992, and they bought the local property from Jimmy Miller in the spring of 2013. It used to serve PlanetCar. You will be seeing more about the business in the Plain Talk soon.
