Ruth Gaynell Hood , 72, of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2011, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents: Commie & Dicie Ogle Blair; husbands, Homer Steele and Max Hood ; and son-in-law, Randy Pence. She was a member of West Millers Cove Baptist Church. She was retired from Clayton Mobile Homes. She was an avid football fan, and she enjoyed animals, gardening, and sewing. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law: Sharon & David Coope, Linda Pence; grandson, Brandon Pence; brother & sister-in-law, Winfred & Dorothy Blair. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Grandview Cemetery for a Graveside Funeral Service with Rev. Jim Duncan officiating.
