Mrs. Ethel Cordelia Key, 75, of Dalton, departed this life Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Ethel was born June 13, 1935, in Blue Ridge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Davenport, Beulah and Harley Key; brothers, Vernie Davenport, Ervin Davenport, JC Davenport and Randall Davenport; sister, Ruth Ellen Laurie, son-in-law, Stephen Neil Trentham, great-grandson, Keyson Phillips.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Grady A. Key of Dalton; daughters, Mona Elaine Key Trentham of Dalton, Rhonda Carol Key McDonough of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Teiya Holly Eubanks of Chattanooga, Eric Grady Jenkins of Dalton, Geran Michael Jenkins of Chatsworth, Tiana Noell Phillips of Dalton, Darice Nichole Gentry of Fort Oglethorpe; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Alford Davenport Lemme Davenport of Blue Ridge; sisters, Eva Mae Stanley of Chatsworth, Winnie Mae Quarles of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Ethel Cordelia are today at 2 p.m. from the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church with her grandson the Rev. Eric Jenkins officiating.
Interment will be in Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Geran Jenkins, Gary McDonough, Coleman Jenkins, Kolby Trentham, Dave Davenport and Clark Phillips serving as pallbearers.
The family received friends at the funeral home from Saturday.
