Myrna J. Whitteaker, 71, born on Oct. 28, 1941, passed away on July 24, 2013, at UT hospital surrounded by her family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and Nana Jo to all who knew her. She was a native of Nova Scotia, Canada. She is preceded in death by her father, Herman LeBlanc; stepfather, Bob Geiss; stepbrother, John Geiss; mother-in-law, Maggie Whitteaker, and ex-husband, Lester Glen Whitteaker Sr. She is survived by her mother, Helen Geiss; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Jim Krause; brother and sister-in-law, Loren and Helen LeBlanc, all from Wisconsin; stepbrother and sister-in-law, Pete and Patti Geiss of Pennsylvania; aunt, Clytie Foster of Mass.; aunt and uncle, Bob and Irene “Deany” Sabean of Florida; Daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Larry Noles; son, Booney Whitteaker and Teresa Whitteaker; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Nita Whitteaker; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Dana Whitteaker, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family, Ben Whitteaker, Carl Whitteaker, Judy and Walter Myers, Joyce and Denis Goodman, Barbara and Jerome Hodge, Immogene and Raymond Abbott; special friends from Music Row; her loving friend and co-worker, Minnie Cobb. She was retired after a long career at UT Hospital dietary department. She attended Hillcrest Baptist Church. In retirement, she loved watching the Atlanta Braves, UT sports and Maryville Rebel football. She loved attending her kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events. She was like a mother to all, and never met a stranger. The family would like to thank all of those who have kept her in their prayers during her long illness. Special thanks to: The Blount Memorial Nursing staff, UT Nursing staff and Fairpark Nursing Home for their care. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville with Rev. Carl White and Rev. Chris Edmonds officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, July 28, 2013,at Memorial Funeral Home in Maryville to proceed to Sherwood Memorial Gardens for an 11 a.m. graveside service with son-in-law, Rev.
