Arnold V. Henegar, 91 of Maryville, passed from this life at home surrounded by family on September 10, 2013. He was born to Hiram and Leona Henegar on July 11, 1922.
Arnold was a veteran of WWII, where he served in the Navy. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church for more than 70 years, where he served as Chairman of Deacons, Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, and trustee. He loved serving his Lord through his Church. He was a member of Unitia Lodge and Scottish Rites, was also an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved camping with his wife Trula after retiring from Johnson and Gaylon Construction Company as a brick mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Trula Brown Henegar; grandson, Terry Lynn Henegar; brothers, J. W. Henegar, Virgil Henegar, and Delbert Henegar; sisters, Belva Payne, Vesta McLemore, Myrtle Byrd, and Pearl Heaton.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Bob and Barbara Charlton and also Blount Memorial Hospice
He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Dale Bailey; son and daughter and son-in-law, Jerry and Geraldine Henegar; grandchildren, Renee Bailey, Sherri Fagan, Matt Henegar, and Mandy Prince; great grandchildren, Teri Jo Fagan, Logan Matthews, Samanda Prince, and Macy Fagan; sister, Annie Kress.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Downey officiating. The interment will follow in the Church cemetery.
