  [S24] The Newport Plain Talk, (http://www.newportplaintalk.com), 7 Jun 2006. Barbara Griffith, age 62, of Newport went to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at her residence. She was a homemaker by trade and a member of Lowes Chapel. Mrs. Griffith is preceded in death by her parents, William Harrison and Carie Holt McGaha; one son, William Darius Griffith; and two brothers, Joe McGaha and Charlie McGaha. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rayford Griffith; three children, Boyd and wife Trish Griffith of Greeneville, Wade and wife Tracy Griffith of Newport, and Cara Gail and husband Atlas Hembree of Newport; and one sister, Marie Barnett of Greeneville. Mrs. Griffith will also be sadly missed by her 10 grandchildren, special friend Christine Mantooth, and a host of special friends. The family will receive friends Friday, June 9, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, June 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ken Smith and Reverend Jackie Caldwell officiating. Interment will follow at Blacks Cemetery.
