Rev. John D. Henderson, age 72, of Newport, passed away Thursday morning, July 11, 2013, at home.
He attended True Gospel Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Henderson, parents Bernie and Iva Lee Henderson and brothers James Henderson and Kenneth Henderson.
He is survived by his step-daughter Janice Brown of Kodak, step-grandchildren Dylon (Nikki) Brown, Matt Brown and Amber Brown, all of New Market; Jennifer Fox of Knoxville and Wesley Dixon of Newport; step-great-grandchildren Austin Beeler and Makayla Beeler, both of Knoxville; sisters and brothers-in-law Betty Lou and Pedro Norton, Francis and Bobby Sutton and Brenda Kay and Ronald Cook; sister Emogene Barnes, and brother and sister-in-law Roger and Sue Henderson, all of Newport. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Askew, Rev. Billy Sutton, and Rev. Robert Ball officiating. Interment will be in the McMillan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m.--1:00 p.m. Saturday at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home prior to the service.
