Mildred Trentham Tarwater, age 82 of Sevierville, formerly of Gatlinburg, passed away Friday, June 26, 2009 at her home. She was born at Banner in Gatlinburg on July 24, 1926 to the late Lona Jane Ogle Trentham and Marshall H. Trentham. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Gatlinburg, being baptized at the age of ten. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Harold William Tarwater; son Harold Richard Tarwater; grandson Joshua James Whaley; sisters Mary Louise Trentham Dixon and husband Richard, Ruth Trentham Stimson and husband Thomas, Mae Trentham McMahan; infant sister Ruby Trentham; brother Robert Wesley Trentham.
Mrs. Tarwater made her home with her daughter Leslie Tarwater in Sevierville and her son Gordon in Maryville following the death of her husband Harold in 1997 after fifty years of marriage.
