Evelyn A. "Tut" Nagel , 84, of Dubuque Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of St. Mary's Apartments, 2955 Kaufmann Ave., and 2493 Hempstead St., died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2001, at the center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2025 Jackson St., with burial in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road, and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
She was born on Nov. 21, 1916, in Guttenberg, daughter of William and Augusta (Koehn) Jungblut. She married Elmer C. Nagel on Dec. 8, 1934, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Guttenberg, Iowa; he died on Oct. 25, 1993.
She was born in Guttenberg and graduated from the Guttenberg High School. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Evelyn was a very thoughtful and caring person especially to those who were ill. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, euchre and bingo.
Surviving are a son, Bill Nagel , of Dubuque; three grandchildren, David (Lynn) Nagel , Nancy (Jim) Leonard and Sandy (Terry) Schute, all of Dubuque; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Michael, Nathan and Destiny; and a sister, Mae Abbott, of Guttenberg.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Edna Buelow, Helen Klingeman, Mattie Saeugling, Marie Masters and Hattie Kipper-Cornish; and a daughter-in-law, Elaine Nagel .
An Evelyn A. Nagel Memorial Fund has been established.
