Hazel Eugenia Wilhoit, age 86, of Wellington Place in Newport, formerly of Knoxville, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009, at Baptist Hospital West.
Mrs. Wilhoit was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of First Tennessee Bank of Knoxville after 45 years of service.
Preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Wilhoit, and parents, Robert and Hazel Ottinger.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret Louise (Dolly) Harville, of Newport; niece and nephew, Betty and Bill Chambers; special great nephew and wife, Robert and Whitney Chambers and their children, Alex and Arin; special cousins, Mr. and Mrs. John Calhoun and family and Mr. and Mrs. Alice Cooke and family; several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Baptist Church with Reverend Tim Bounds officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Monday at Union Cemetery in Newport for an 11:00 a.m. interment service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Broadway Baptist Church, 815 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the funeral service at Broadway Baptist Church.
