  [S24] The Newport Plain Talk, (http://www.newportplaintalk.com), 3 Jul 2013. Mr. John L. Ramsey, age 50, of Newport, passed away Monday afternoon, July 1, 2013, at Newport Medical Center. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents Delmar and Viola Shults and his uncle Charles Miller. He is survived by his daughters Tiffany Rines of Newport and Ashley Banks of Dandridge; sons Kevin Ramsey and Jonathan Ramsey of Newport; grandchildren Haley, Harley, and Michael Banks of Dandridge; Sophia Ball, Alysia Gregg, and Brian Hernandez of Newport; sisters Renea Newkum and Marlene Jones of Dandridge and Linda Greene of Newport; brothers Elmer Shults of Morristown, Wayne Ramsey of Middle Tennessee, and Freddy Ramsey of Dandridge. Additional survivors include several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Swannsylvania Baptist Church Cemetery, Dandridge, for the 11:00 a.m. graveside service with Pastor Ronnie Askew officiating.
