Monta Edith Snodgrass, 90, went to be with her heavenly Father and beloved husband Jim on March 1, 2011. Born in Washington County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Zedie and Rosie Worley Turner. Edith was a homemaker who also dealt in real estate while raising a large family. She enjoyed large cookouts, spending time at her beach house, and Christmas with all of her family. Preceding her in death were her husband, Jim Snodgrass; two brothers, Clayton Turner and Junior Turner; and two granddaughters, Karen Grubb and Lauren Lineberger. She is survived by six daughters, Freeda (Chuck) Brewer, Carol (Phil) Grubb, Barbara (Albert) Shepard, Marie (Baron) English, Bobbie (Gene) Curtis, and Donna Lineberger; son, Roger Lumpkin; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters, Martha Fleenor, Norma Smith, Clemons Miller and Audrey Barker; and brother, Charles Turner. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2011 at Weaver Funeral Home, 630 Locust Dr., Bristol, TN 37620. Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 5 at 11 a.m. at Weaver Funeral Home, followed by a burial service at Mountain View Cemetery, Bristol Virginia.
