Reece Millsaps, age 80, of Vonore, passed away 7:04 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at UT Medical Center of apparent cardiac arrest. He retired from ALCOA Aluminum Company of America and was a member of the 25-Year Club. Reece loved working in his bees, but most of all, working in his garden and being on his tractor. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Vonore and was a member of Vonore Masonic Lodge #658 for over 60 years. Preceded in death by parents, Calloway and Opal Millsaps; sisters, Marie Dixon and Mable White; brother-in-law, Ray Pilkington. Survivors include devoted wife of 62 years, Lois Pilkington Millsaps; daughters and son-in-law, Betty Ann and James French, Debbie Tate and fiancé, Tom Bunch; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and James Stephens; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law on his wife’s side of the family, Vestal “Cubbie” and Una V. Pilkington, Herman and Margaret Pilkington, Sue Pilkington, Luther and Tammy Pilkington, Irene and James Deaton, Jack and Beulah Palmer, Oscar and Lula Johnson; a host of nieces and nephews and many friends. Funeral will be 7 p.m. Saturday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Robert D. Moore, Rev. Tommy Self officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Sunday, Big Toqua Cemetery. Masonic service, 6:45 p.m. Saturday. Family will receive friends 5-6:45 p.m. Saturday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
