Marshall earns bachelor’s degree
Layla Corinne Marshall received her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree with highest honors at the McAmish Pavilion at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
Marshall is the daughter and Mack A. and Amber Marshall of Johnson City. She is the granddaughter of Agnes Marshall and the late postmaster Mack T. Marshall of Sevierville, and John and Mary Ralston of Arborvale, W.Va.
She has been a member of the Georgia Tech Marching and Concert bands for four years where she played saxophone and oboe. She is also an accomplished pianist.
She studied in France in the summer of 2011. While there she visited many of the European countries.
At Georgia Tech she won the Helen Grenga Award for outstanding female engineer, the Outstanding Mentor Award, Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty award and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Scholar Award for highest academic average in the ECE senior class.
Marshall has accepted a position with Siemens Industry in the Engineering Leadership Development program and will be starting in July.
