Carl Lesley Grooms, Jr., age 66, of Maryville, passed away May 10, 2013, at his home. He was a member of New Providence Primitive Baptist Church, a devoted family man who deeply loved his Lord. Carl was proud to be a Vietnam veteran and his family was very proud of his service. Preceded in death by father, Carl L. Grooms Sr.; grandparents, Henry and Zoralee Grooms, Hillard and Abby Anderson; brother, Cecil Ray Grooms. Survivors include dearly beloved mother, Leah A. Grooms; brothers, Lee Grooms and wife Shirley, Jimmy Grooms, Bobby Grooms and wife Stephanie, Gary Grooms, Mark Grooms and wife Greta; wife, Teresa Fay Grooms; sons, Lesley Alan Grooms and wife Jennifer, Dylan Lucas Grooms and wife Niki; daughters, Audra Boring and husband Joey, Tracy Choate, Tabatha Lester and husband Paul; grandchildren, Austin, Abby, Abel, Shayla, Kadon, Dakota, Gavin, Rylee, Zach, Daylon, Jacob, and Autumn; special friends, Fred Farr and Scarlett Johnson; many other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brenda Self of New Providence Primitive Baptist Church to be given to Paralyzed Veterans of America. Celebration of life services will be held at New Providence Primitive Baptist Church on Monday, June 17, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tommy Boring. There will be no graveside service.
