He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a member of Prudentia Lodge 719, Alcoa. A past president of Tennessee Valley Four Wheelers Club, he was an avid sportsman, and former member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He attended Union Chapel Baptist Church, Kingston. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Russell Eric Smith , Steven Lloyd and Nanci Smith and Mark Dixon and Fawn Smith ; sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise Blair Holt; Irene S. and Jeff Klintberg and Carolyn Smith Brottem and Marc Brottem; grandchildren, Curtis Lawerence Smith , Stephanie Lynn McKever, Timmothy Lee Wilson and David Gene Nance; and great-grandchildren, Bayden Delaney McKever and Sydni Evangeline Smith . The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston. Graveside service, with military honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard, and burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, at Lawnville Cemetery. [S87] Death Certificate.
