Hammack, Mariam (Midge) Franklin –age 87 of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Beverly Park Place Health Center. She was a member of Gayland Heights Baptist Church and retired from Western Union after many years of service. Preceded in death by husband, Edgar Hammack; parents, Sam Yule and Lavina Franklin; brother, William Franklin; sisters, Iva Williamson and Annette Strevel. She is survived by brother, Henry (Clara) Franklin; sisters, Rachel (Elmer) Yadon, Nancy (Charles Allen) Pilant, Ulyss Davis; several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank the many wonderful caregivers at Beverly Park Place Health and Rehab Center who cared for her during the last two years. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM on Monday, June 3, 2013 in the mausoleum chapel of Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Tennessee, Inc., 2200 Sutherland Avenue, Suite 202, Knoxville, Tennessee 37919 or to Gayland Heights Baptist Church, 1518 Willoughby Road, Knoxville, Tennessee 37920.
