Edwin Ray Martin, age 65 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013, at Asbury Place following a short but courageous illness. Mr. Martin was seriously injured in an automobile accident which took the life of his father-in-law, Harold V. Keeble, on May 30, 2013, in Blount County, TN. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Gray Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Martin retired from the U. S. Army after 22 years of service. Master Sgt. Martin served three tours of duty in Vietnam, as well as tours in Germany, Japan, and other locations.
Preceding Mr. Martin in death were his parents, William George Martin and Myrtle Martin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold V. Keeble and Opal Keeble; infant brother, Roy Martin; sister, Mae Brannon and sister, Naomi Sharp; brother-in-law, Don E. Keeble.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Keeble Martin and his son, Brent Keeble Martin of Maryville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, David and Faye Martin of Lenoir City, TN; brother, Junior Martin of Etowah, TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Betty Martin of Alcoa, TN; Charles and Jean Martin of Seymour, TN; sister, Omalee Garrett of Knoxville, TN; sister, Kitty Casto of Cleveland, TN; sister, Lillian Brittian of Powell, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Hugh Cogdill of Lillian, AL.
Per Mr. Martin’s request, he will be cremated and no services will be held.
