John H. Brogan , 75, of 283 Tapp's Ridge Road, Vevay, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2001, at his home.
He was born April 25, 1926, in Hancock County, Tenn., the son of Louis and Bertha Seals Brogan . He had lived in Switzerland County since 1958, was employed by the Ford Motor Co. for 18 and 1/2 years in Monroe, Mich., earlier, and was also a retired farmer. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church in Hancock County.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma Jean Middleton Brogan ; three sons, John David Brogan of Claremore, Okla., James Brogan of Florence and Jerry Brogan of Vevay; three daughters, Patricia Sheets of Carmel, Carolyn Curlin and Wilma Jean Dennis, both of Vevay; three brothers, E.J. Brogan of Tazewell, Tenn., L.C. Brogan of Dandridge, Tenn., and Jim Brogan of Monroe, Mich.; three sisters, Eloria Hilton of Tazewell, Jean Lawson and Pauline Seals , both of Sneedville, Tenn.; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Billy Ray Brogan ; and two brothers, Rulie and Wiley Brogan .
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay, with burial in the Vevay Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society. Cards will be available at the funeral home.
