KAY E. WICE, age 79, of White Pine, TN passed away at her home on Monday, October 13, 2014. She was a long time member of Leadvale Baptist Church, where she strongly supported and led most of the home and foreign mission projects. She was retired from White Pine Elementary School, where she taught for over 30 years. All the children loved Mrs. Wice and how she made each child feel special on their birthday. Each child was allowed to rock in her rocking chair all day on their special day. Preceded in death by husband, Pat Wice; parents, Maxwell and Anne Ellis; brother, “Chip” Ellis; niece, Kathy Wice Young. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Whitfield and husband David; the delight of her life, her grandchildren, Kyle Allen and fiancé Heather Rushing, and Baylor Whitfield; sisters, Sue Harries and Jean Bridwell; nieces and nephews, Bill and Sandy Sykes, Suzanne and Richard Chapman, Eddie and Kathi Bridwell, Leslie and John Brooks, Laura and Rodney Balch; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kayo and Mary Lou Wice; nieces and nephews, Regina and Rick Sinard, Karen and Tony Fleenor, Mark and Kim Wice, David and Gina Wice; several other nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Leadvale Baptist Church with Rev. Charlie Harkelroad and Rev. Charles Robison officiating. Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. prior to the service. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. Thursday morning at White Pine Cemetery for an 10:00 a.m. graveside interment service. The family has requested that In Lieu of Flowers Memorial Donations be made to Leadvale Baptist Church Missions: 874 Leadvale Church Road, White Pine, TN 37890.
