HOLDER , DR. JAMES THOMAS M.D. - of Maryville, died Friday, January 21, 2000, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Due to weather the graveside service was rescheduled. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at Carpenters Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Roger Mathess officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Carpenter's Campground United Methodist Church 3538 Best Road Maryville, Tenn. 37803 or to the American Diabetes Assoc., Tenn. Affiliate, Inc. 4205 Hillsboro Road, Suite 200, Nashville, Tenn. 37215. McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home of Maryville.

HOLDER , DR. JAMES THOMAS , M.D. - of Maryville, died Friday, January 21, 2000 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Dr. Holder was a graduate of Everett High School, the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and the University of Tennessee School of Medicine in Memphis and was a veteran of World War II. He was a teacher at Lanier High School before becoming a physician. He practiced General and Family Medicine before completing a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UT School of Medicine. He became a member of the medical staff at Blount Memorial Hospital in 1961 and served for several years as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was a member of the Blount County Medical Society, the Tennessee Medical Association, and the American Medical Associaiton, and he was a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He was preceded in death by parents, James Andrew Holder and Netta Carpenter Holder . Survivors include wife, Lynn Holder ; daughter, Jennifer Holder and Judy Holder of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Greg Williams of Maryville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Wilma Holder , Fred Lee, and Margaret Holder , Bobby and Christine Holder , all of Maryville; sister, Irene McSpadden of Maryville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Harold Leatherwood of Maryville, Dolores and Bob Chambers of Quincy, Calif.; nieces and nephews, James Holder , Darrell Holder , Teresa Best, Mike Holder , Kenny Holder , Larry Holder , Gary Leatherwood, all of Maryville and Mike Chambers of Quincy, Calif.; many great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home, Maryville. Family and friends will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at Carpenters Cemetery for a graveside service with Rev. Roger Mathess officiating.
