William Fred Rollins , age 80, of Greenback, passed away 9:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008, at Blount Memorial Hospital. Retired from the U.S. Army, served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a deacon at Greenback Memorial Baptist Church. Son of the late George Washington and Sallie Josephene Cabe Rollins . Survivors: wife of 56 years, Eula Bell Rollins ; sons and daughters-in-law, William Gerald and Lisa Eileen Rollins , Columbia, S.C., Freddie Wayne and Deborah Kay Rollins , Greenback; grandchildren, Jessica Ann Walker, Jerah Mae Rollins , William Gerad Rollins ; great-grandchild, Jacqueline Ann Walker; sisters, Hazel Jackson, Greenback, Edna Sue Noble, Vonore; brother, Lonnie Dennis Rollins , Madisonville. Psalm 30:5, For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Funeral 7 p.m. Friday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Rev. Ken Holder, Rev. Greg Dowey, Rev. Dennis Robinson, Rev. Alvin Patton officiating. Interment 1 p.m. Saturday, Morganton Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Friday at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
