Jerry “Monk” Jackson, age 68, of Newport, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at University of Tennessee Medical Center, in Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Arlola Jackson. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Linda Jackson; children, Brad Jackson, Linda (Doyle, Jr.) Parks, Jerry Jackson, Amy (Scott) Allison, and Miranda Jackson; sisters Shirley (Carl) McNabb, Vivian Ford, and Jennifer Miller; brothers J.C. (Mary Lou) Jackson and Donnie (Regina) Jackson; grandkids, Chelsea, Layla, Jerrica, Jarod, and Jacob Jackson, Erica and Jaden Allison, and Ridge and Gage Parks; also several nieces, nephews, aunt, cousins and friends, special friend Charles Teague.
Funeral services will be held 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Johnny Bugg officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm prior to the funeral service. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 1, 2013, in Faubian Cemetery.
