(February 4, 1930 - April 21, 2013) Chester L. “Cotton” Davis, age 83, of Walland, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at home. He was a member of Keeble’s Chapel Baptist Church. Retired from the U.S. Air Force with 20 years of service and a veteran of Vietnam. He was also retired from ALCOA with 15 years. Preceded in death by parents, Orville and Pearl Davis; sister, Marie Hafley and brothers, Leo, Fred, Freeman, Jack and Charles. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Norma Ogle Davis; daughters, Vicki Strickland, Debi and husband Jim Dunlap, Denise and husband, Phillip Herndon; son, Steve and wife, Tammy Davis; grandchildren, Shanda Wellman, Noah Pusey, Steven Pusey, Mandi Warren, Sarah Chatmon, Caroline Davis, Kelly Davis, Houston Davis, and Baron Herndon; great grandchildren, Tanner Wellman, Larissa, Katie and Emilee Warren, Clayton Glosson, Traven Pusey; Bonnie Herndon and Jaylee Davis; brothers, Kenneth and O.L. Davis and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Tim Martin and Rev. Kenneth Martin officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Keeble’s Chapel Cemetery for the graveside service and interment.
