SMITH , PHYLLIS ANN JONES passed away on October 14, 2010. She was a member of Alice Bell Baptist Church. Phyllis worked 17 years at Levi-Strauss and Company as secretary to the General Manager. She also spent 5 years at Olan Mills as a sales supervisor and 10 years with Lab Corp as a phlebotomist. Phyllis lived the life of a good Samaritan and an animal activist. Preceded in death by mother, Christine Fox; step-father, Luther Fox; beloved grandfather, Joseph White. Survivors: husband, Ronald Smith ; beloved daughter, Rhonda Potts; step-son, Randy Smith and mate Alicia Rouse; beloved brother and wife, Billy Dale and Eula Mae Holt, of Newport; brothers-in-law and wives, David and Polly Smith , Jimmy and Becky Smith ; special people in her life, Sheila Henry, Alicia Rouse, Donna Hill, Teresa Sharp, Gwen Carmichael, Judy Murr, Judy Smith , and Faye Vandergriff. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Stevens Chapel with Rev. Toby Everett officiating. Family and friends will meet 1:45 p.m. Sunday at Point Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Cocke County for a 2:00 p.m. graveside service and interment. In lieu of flowers, do a Good Samaritan deed for someone in need. "Mommy, may you find the peace in death that you couldn't find in life", Love always, Rhonda.
