HELTON, NELLIE HADDOCK - age 87, of Maryville, died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at the family home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Herman Marshall Helton daughter, Wanda McSpadden granddaughter, Leah Helton brothers, Leonard and Frank Haddock, and sister, Buena Dedmon. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Max and Jean Helton of Huntersville, N.C. son-in-law, Kenneth McSpadden of Alcoa granddaughters, Pam Trentman and husband, Rick of Seymour, Cheryl Effler and husband, Dennis of Maryville, Joy Cagle and husband, Dale of Huntersville, N.C., Angie Foster of Alcoa, Melanie Barker and husband, Daryl of Huntersville, N.C., Elaine Helton of Huntersville, N.C., Crista Helton of Newport Beach, Calif., Becky Chapman and husband, Rob of Durham, N.C. twelve great-grandchildren, Travis and Josh Trentham, Adam and Katie Effler, Creed Marshall Cagle, Chase Foster, D.J., Brooke, Samuel, Madison, and Amber Barker, Rachel Chapman brothers David and Walter Haddock sister, Ola Mae Smith, and special caregiver, Myrtle Cockrell. Funeral Service will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2002, in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with the Rev. Danny Jenkins officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at Grandview Cemetery. Ron was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who was a true and faithful servant of God. A member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church and the owner of Henry Excavation, Inc., an avid deer hunter who's love of the outdoors and camping included the K-Town Sams Camping Club and the Tennessee Valley Four Wheelers. Ron is preceded in death by his loving parents, Paul and Georgia Henry. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife, Katherine Cox Locke Henry devoted sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald F., Jr. and Lisa Henry, Paul Edward and Beth Henry daughter and son-in-law, Patty Henry and David Tidwell step children and spouses, Andrew and Jill Locke and Barbara Locke and David Clift grandsons, Blaine Henry, Zachary and Jacob Henry, David Jr. and Adam Tidwell, Taylor Locke, Cody and Ryan Clift sister, Patricia Henry mother-in-law, Hazel Cox and faithful pet, Max. Funeral service 8:00 p.m. Monday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. Terry Kirby, Rev. Steve Kirby and Mr. David Griggs, officiating. Family and friends will meet by 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2002, at the entrance to Highland West Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. interment service, with full military honors presented by the Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers, Onan Cox, Jr., Jack Cox, Edward McReynolds, Jim Harbin, Bill Hines and Rick Kirby.
