Margaret Ernsberger of Maryville passed away Monday, April 15, 2013, at Shannondale HealthCare in Knoxville. “Marge” was a long time member and elder of Highland Presbyterian Church of Maryville. She enjoyed volunteering at Blount Memorial Hospital, first as a Hospice Volunteer for seven years and then in the auxiliary for 23 years, accumulating 20,000 hours, performing various services. She was active locally in the National Federation of Republican Women working at the polls for many years. Her friends and family were very dear to her. Marge was born April 21, 1917 to parents Mary and John Smida in Chicago, Illinois. She was the middle child of eleven siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 45 years, Edgar E. Ernsberger in 1981, her son Roxy Ernsberger, and nine of her siblings, including Pearl Chada of Sevierville. She is survived by son Garry and wife Lana Ernsberger, Maryville, daughter-in-law Claire Ernsberger of Newport, RI, grandchildren Greg Ernsberger (Cade, Sarah, Ben), Dover, TN, Curtis and Debbie Ernsberger (Emmitt, Davis) of Maryville, Kevin and Jessica Ernsberger (Emma, Everett) of Maryville, Nicole and Miles Cook (Brian, Sarah, Jayne) of Atlanta, Evan and Leslie Ernsberger (Merritt, Ellis, Avery) of Norman, OK, and Alexa Dull (Maggie, Rachel, Johanna) of Newport, RI, sister Ethel Bauch, Chicago, brother-in-law James Chada of Sevierville, TN , and special friend Corita Swanson. Family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 17, 2013 with a memorial service to follow at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Highland Presbyterian Church, Blount Memorial Hospital Foundation, and Blount County Library.
