Agnes Lauretta Huff, 59, of Newport, passed away Thursday morning, October 21, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of French Broad Baptist Church. She was previously employed as a waitress at the Mountain View Truckstop. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Sr. and Dorothy Huff; and a brother, Johnny Ray Huff. Agnes is survived by her children, Gayla Ottinger Hefner, and husband, Richard, of Newport, and Richard Huff of Parrottsville; one sister, Ruby Diebels of Odessa, Texas; brothers, Harold Huff and wife, Jo, and Fred Huff Jr. and wife, Zura, of Parrottsville; and grandchildren, Derek Lynn Hefner and Lucas Keenan Hefner, both of Newport, and Kevin Scott Huff of Cosby. Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Murr ofÞciating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday evening at Brown Funeral Home. Brown Funeral Home is in charge.
