(February 28, 1952 - March 20, 2013) Gary Layman, age 61, of Newport, passed away, Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred Layman; brother, James Eugene Laymon; and sister, Mira Conley. He is survived by his brothers, Billy Bob Layman, Earl McMahan and Tony Layman; sisters, Wilma Arwood, Reva Dean Ward, Vondle James and Paulette Cureton; companion, Janice Myers; special nephews, Stevie, Dewayne and Terry; also several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends including a very special person in Gary's life Gwen Lawson. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 pm Friday, March 22, 2013 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry Wells and Pastor Joe Cureton officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am Saturday, March 23, 2013 in Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Friday at Manes Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.
