Ira "Wendy" H. Walker, age 89, of Maryville passed away Sunday, June 14th, 2015 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Ira was born and raised in Maryville and retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company. He was a Corporal in the United States Marines, served in Okinawa and was a Rifle Marksman 6. He was honorably discharged in 1947. Ira was the recipient of a Purple Heart, The Asiatic Campaign Medal, The American Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He was a lifetime member of The American Legion.
He is preceded in death by: parents, Fannie Mae and Barney Walker; loving wife, Lois Jean Walker; brothers and sisters: Woodrow Walker, Willy Walker, Norman Walker, Betty Grove, Dottie Wachter, George Walker, Joseph Walker, Calvin Walker, Wendall Walker, Richard Walker, Charlie Walker and Herman Walker.
He is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, Sandee and Randy Kincaid; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Juanell Walker; grandchildren, Wendy Henry, Dustin Morgan, Christi Young and Brian and Minjung Kincaid; great grandchildren, Aliveea and Destinee Breazeale, Taylor Young, Claire Kincaid; brother and sister-in-law, Buck and Wanda Walker; close friends, Dottie Knox, Brian Jenkins; and many other special nieces, nephews, friends and family members.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
