He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lorena Hillard McCroy ; mother, "Aunt Pet" Lambert; father, Sam McCroy ; step-father, Estel Lambert; beloved grandsons, Danny Dunlap, Tony McCroy , Rocky Hornsby; sisters, Estel Grubb, Minnie Brown. Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Pauline McCroy , Sam and Phyllis McCroy ; daughter and son-in-law, Marlene and Jerry Jones, all of Maryville; grandchildren, Dempsey Walker, Travis Dunlap, Regina Hornsby, Sherry Self, Scott McCroy , Bobby McCroy ; 5 great grandchildren; sister, Ruby Stinnett of Ormond Beach, Fla.; several cousins and friends; special neighbors, Bill and Tywanna Cliett, Fred and Melba Hughes; special friend, Odell Fife. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Taylor officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
