Mr. Bobby Joe Howard, Sr., age 70, of Newport, passed away Friday, May 11, 2012 at Newport Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents Dave and Dorothy Howard and grandparents Thurman and Lena Rosie Williams and Emmitt and Lydia Howard. He is survived by his wife Duretha Howard, of the home; son Bobby Howard, Jr.; daughter Robin Howard; grandchildren Bradley Howard, Matthew Howard, and Rachel Howard, all of Newport; brothers Jeff Howard of Johnson City and J.D. Howard of Newport; sister Annie Howard of Newport; step-mother Dorothy Howard of Newport; sisters-in-law Cindy Campbell and Debbie Knight, both of Newport, and Dina Kimp of Oklahoma; brother-in-law Gene Knight; father-in-law and mother-in-law Bill and Yvonne Campbell; aunt Clara Howard; several nieces and nephews including Jason Campbell, Jamie Campbell, Jackie Lane, Jennifer Messer, Angie Tipton, and Freddy Ray, and special friend Linda Howard, all of Newport. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2012 at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Surber officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens for the 11:00 a.m. internment.
